Only 28% of households could afford the median $640,000 home, needing an income of $159,600. In the Inland Empire, 25% could afford the $605,000 median home with a $150,800 income requirement. Statewide affordability dropped to 19%, with a median price of $916,750 and a $228,400 income needed.
